Dr. Francis Furia is an academician at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences where he serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health. He is also a medical specialist at Muhimbili National Hospital. Dr Furia is a council member and Tobacco control champion for the Paediatric Association of Tanzania. He has participated in  Early Childhood Development activities including training champions and supporting the establishment of ECD corners in Tanzania. Dr. Furia is a researcher and his research areas include general paediatrics, paediatric nephrology, paediatric rheumatology, and rare diseases.
