Dr. Theopista Jacob Masenge, an accomplished medical professional holding degrees in Medicine (MD), Pediatrics (MMED), and a Master in Business Administration in Health Care Management (MBA-CM), is a distinguished Child Health Specialist deeply versed in Pediatrics and Public Health. With a rich background in designing and executing projects pertaining to reproductive maternal, newborn, and child health, Dr. Masenge offers a wealth of expertise in enhancing access to high-quality comprehensive pediatric and adolescent services, both locally and globally.
Currently, Dr. Masenge serves as the Chairperson of the national Pediatric and Adolescent Technical Working Group, a pivotal role where she advises the Ministry of Health on advancing care quality, reducing morbidity, and preventing mortality from vaccine-preventable diseases. Furthermore, she contributes to the national Maternal Newborn and Child Health Technical Working Group and holds an honorary membership in the Global Alliance to End Pediatric HIV/AIDS by 2030.
Beyond her professional commitments, Dr. Masenge is the Vice President of the Pediatric Association of Tanzania and serves as a Project Director for Comprehensive Child-Centered Care and Services at the Christian Services Commission. Driven by a profound commitment to child health and well-being, she has spearheaded various initiatives focusing on early childhood development, vaccination and immunization, tobacco control, establishment of clinical learning networks for essential health services, and orchestrating national perinatal mortality death reviews.
